Q&A
I've done it again
Well well well, here we meet again. Smitty has done the 'impossible'. That is, yet again, creating a new game. BUT, this is not any ordinary game. Oh, and it's been an ongoing project for quite some time now. The idle-pixel updates between coding what's coming has been hard, but we are finally getting close. Keep reading if you're interested.
Past experience
I have now succesfully built from scratch a game engine that supports MMOs. I have managed to combine all the coding skills I have learned from diamond hunt offline, diamond hunt 1, diamond hunt 2, diamond hunt mmo, diamond hunt 3, idle-pixel, to create the dream project I've always wanted to create. My first diamond hunt came out nine years ago. And I KNOW some of you reading this are still around, and I love to see that.
Why I'm doing this
I've been a long time fan of the mmo called runescape (oldschool). I wanted to created something similar, but in 2D. It's so fun to see our levels go up while doing other stuff, and I wanted to take it to the next level. Think of it as an idle game, like idle-pixel, but you can actually walk around, equip items and so on. The game is coded to have a lot of afk skills, and not so afk-skills, such as combat.
The big move - Should I do it? (Last year)
This was a tough descission. Do I put 100% of my effort in idle-pixel, or go half/half with this project? Well obviously if this site is up, it's because I went half half. Nobody noticed, because idle pixel updates were still being released quite regularly.
Time to work
So I got to work. I'm a pretty decent coder when it comes to backend, but my frontend skills really do suck. All my previous games shows how bad I am at UI and drawing. So I took lessons for pixel art, and I am attempting to draw everything in this game. I will not be using AI (not a fan, even though I've used it for idle-pixel), and I'll be creating all animations frame by frame.
